School Council at Parliament

Last week, our school visited the House of Parliament. They took part in a workshop called ‘Your Voice’. This involved learning all about the different mechanisms of government in the country. They learnt about local government, devolved government, national government and European government. Different members of school council represented these different groups as well as government ministers, the House of Lords and the British Public. They then had to make a decisions on a number of areas on behalf of the group they represented to see how decisions and laws pass through each group. Democracy in action!
