Amazing writing…

This piece of writing was done by Hamid this week. Entirely off his own back. He decided to write it, inspired by the book ‘Heaven Eyes’ by David Almond which he has recently been reading. We have been so impressed with Hamid’s dedication to his work this year and it has really paid off in his writing. He is a voracious reader and its no coincidence that this has led to outstanding writing by the end of year 6. Well done Hamid and we hope his writing will inspire others to read and write for pleasure as he does. We hope you enjoy this snippet he wrote today:

A frantic woman on a stormy winter’s night. She was very young and beautiful and very desperate. She carried a tiny baby wrapped in blankets in an orange box. She loved her baby dearly , but it broke her heart that the truth was (and she knew very much) she couldn’t care for him. She kept in the shadows as she approached the hospital. She waited for the deepest night, trembling with cold, pain and love. Hurrying through the storm, she laid him on a wide doorstep and with tears running down her rose red cheek. She slipped off into the cold of the dark. The woman in white.
