Visit the Guildhall Art Gallery and view the incredible Brecknock Year 5 exhibition

The ‘Echoes across the Century’ Exhibition at the Guildhall Art Gallery was absolutely amazing!

With Brecknock one of only two primary schools participating, our Year 5 children did us proud. Their maturely insightful contributions to the exhibits  – ranged from ‘letters from the trenches’ (antiqued with tea) to sculptures of soldiers, models of medals, WWI worlds made inside matchboxes to moths and butterflies symbolising the souls lost.
Last week we enjoyed being shown round by our Year 5 ambassadors and the rest of the group – as did our governor, David, and the two Masters of the Cooks and Bakers Guilds; who impressed the children with their ceremonial robes when presenting their certificates. The Masters were pleased to hear the children enjoyed the project and would like to do more like it.
  • The show is free for any of Brecknock’s children and their families to visit and is open now to the public.
