OutRight: Looking for Safety

The ambassadors have been taking part in a project called OutRight. They have been developing their knowledge and understanding of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and learning about the impact of the refugee crisis on a child’s right to protection and right to family reunification.

Recently the ambassadors created some Art work showing the dangers and problems faced by refugees seeking to be reunited with their families. The title of the Art work is called ‘Looking for Safety’ and the work is shown below.

The Year 6 ambassadors also presented the OutRight project in an assembly and asked the children to write down why they thought having rights was so important. Some of their responses are here too which we will share with Unicef along with the Art work.

Now the ambassadors are more informed about OutRight they are inspired to take action beyond the school gates. More to follow in the next few weeks!
