Brilliant Brecknock Tile Mural

As many of you will have seen outside the school office are some fantastic tiles made by the children using leave and plant motifs. These were done with Pedro, who runs our pottery club. After the success of those last year he was asked to come up with a design for a mural to go on the school wall on the York Way side of school to brighten it up. He came up with an idea of having all the staff and children make tiles with their hand prints on it. Over the last few months, once he had the imprints from all the children, he has been busy tinting and firing the tiles and over the summer he was able to get the tiles up. If you haven’t seen them yet go and have a look, we are all very pleased with how they have turned out. Sue Ladipo will be returning to school next Friday, the 11th, for the grand unveiling ceremony at 10.30am. It any of you would like to come along we’d love to see you on the York Way side of the school. In the meantime here’s a short video Pedro has put together of the process from start to finish.
