We kicked off Brecknock Book Week in style this week with a visit from award winnning author,  Guy Bass! The creator of ‘Stich Head’ had his KS2 audience captivated as he told us about his process as a writer, what he liked to write about and read an extract from the fourth book in the ‘Stitch Head’ series, ‘The Spider’s Lair’.

Marwan in year 4 even had the chance to share some of his own sketches of ‘Stitch Head’ with Guy who was suitably impressed.  There was an opportunity for children to ask Guy questions and they came up with some fabulous ones. Laura, in year 6, was very keen to get some tips from Guy for how to approach her own writing, while the year 4 children wanted to know if there was going to be anymore ‘Stich Head’ books. The good news is there is, with the 5th being released in June and a 6th already under way!

After school, Guy kindly stayed behind to sign copies of his books and it was great to see so many parents queuing with the children to buy a book. A huge thanks to Guy for coming and helping kick off Book Week in such a successful way and to Az for organising it all.
