Trip to Boma Garden Centre

Today Year 1 took a trip down to Boma Garden centre in Kentish Town. We walked around the centre and spoke about lots of different things there. We talked about the price and type of plants being displayed around the centre, as well as all plants having a label to give information about the plant. Whilst walking around we learnt some new vocabulary such as ‘compost’ and ‘trowel’. After this we asked a member of staff for some help to pick some seeds to grow in the classroom. We took a selection of seeds and paid for them at the counter, before returning to school to plant the seeds. Now that we have experienced a garden centre in real life we can bring the one in the classroom to life!
