School Journey! Day Two

Another exciting day in Kent for Year 6. Thankfully, the very early morning rain stopped just in time for our first activity: shelter building! Teams of eight children were taken into the forest and given one and a half hours to build a shelter, only using only the natural resources around them. Each team worked magnificently well together to build some outstanding shelters. Despite this, some still got pretty wet when the course leader tested how waterproof they were (he threw a bucket of water around each part of it!)

In the afternoon, each group took part in the activity they hadn’t done the previous day (See Day One blog for more info). Then, in the evening, everybody marched back up to the forest with only their torches for light and enjoyed a campfire, with some children sharing their own scary stories. All the group are looking forward to seeing the children who are coming tomorrow; it should be another great day!
