Frog Life Cycle

This half term 2H have been enjoying watching frog spawn develop into frogs.  Using scientific inquiry, the children have been observing and recording the changes that have occurred over 6 weeks.

When it first entered the classroom, many had never seen frog spawn before and were excited to see how it developed. Each day they have eagerly visited the tank to observe them.

After a few weeks of growing, they began to develop legs and finally their arms too.

By week 6 they had developed from tadpole, to froglet, to frog and eventually made it out on to the stones and rocks in the tank.

Wishing to return them to their natural habitat, they were set free at Camley Road nature reserve.

We all hope they survive and make frog spawn of their own next year!
