Fee Fi Fo Fum!

This week we read the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and used masks to act out the story. We used our own ideas to think of what the characters said in the story, and remembered to speak loudly and clearly. It was very exciting when the Wizard sent us some magic beans of our own. We have planted them so keep your eyes peeled for a giant beanstalk sprouting in reception soon!

Now that we have set up our shop we need to think about how we will buy and sell things. We thought it was very funny that the wizard bought Jack’s cow with beans because we use money when we go to the shops. We thought lots about money this week and made up actions for words like ‘money’, ‘coin’ and ‘pound’ to help us with our learning. We decided that everything in our shop would costs £1 and all the children were allowed to spend £10 each. We took turns as a cashier and had to check the other children only bought the ten items they had money for. Some of us also wrote some of the numbers on receipts.
