Last week, Laila Sumpton visited Year 5 to discuss the importance of performing poetry. She explained the different ways to gain the attention of the audience and how to ensure they were interested. Laila spoke about posture and facial expressions, she told the children to stand straight and to hold their heads as though they were radiating sun. It was great that Year 5 were given the opportunity to talk to a real poet. They are looking forward to publishing their final poetry outcomes.
