Message from the Heads

Brecknock is an exciting and nurturing school, placed at the heart of a thriving community. We offer a caring, creative and stimulating environment for all our children, staff and parents to learn together, grow and succeed.

We believe that children’s happiness and emotional wellbeing is vital and is the foundation for children to be able to thrive and contribute to society. We aim to give children positive initial experiences of learning and relationships, which will help to make them responsible, responsive citizens who understand the value of community.

Our core values underpin daily life.We teach our children to be innovative ensuring that they are able to use their curiosity and imagination to solve problems. We also teach our children to be giving and help them to understand the importance of looking after each other, our school and the environment.

The staff at Brecknock set high academic aspirations for our children and work hard to provide them with an extensive range of opportunities, carefully designed to spark their interests and enthusiasm and enable them to realise their full potential. These opportunities are rooted in research and enable us to support and train other teachers within Camden and beyond.

As a Rights Respecting School, the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child is at the heart of our school curriculum, policy and practice. We offer the children opportunities to act as champions of children’s rights and to develop their place in the world as global citizens.

We harness a strong belief that working closely with our parents will support the children in their learning and their well-being. By the time they leave the school, we want our children to have a strong sense of identity and to be confident and responsible citizens.

We are very proud of Brecknock and very much hope that as you look through our website you will understand why.
