QR Code treasure hunt

You may have seen QR codes around the place – they are found on bus stop signs, magazines, posters, food packaging – they are everywhere. Well this week they came to our maths lesson too!

The children were given QR codes to scan with the iPads which told them to go to different locations around the school. When they were there somewhere in the location was hidden another QR code, which when scanned, gave them a question to answer. All the questions were based on what they’d been learing about in maths that week – properties of number: square numbers, cubed numbers, factors, multiples, primes etc.

When they had visited all the locations and answered all the questions the numercial answers where then put into a code grid to give them a message.

The first team to successfully solve the hidden message was Freya and Demi. Well done girls, great maths! The children also now know how to use a QR scanning programme.
