Healthy teeth, happy smiles!

During work week, Year 2 explored the theme of ‘jobs in our community.’

On Wednesday, Jersey class talked about jobs in the dental surgery and discussed what we could do to keep our teeth healthy.

After watching some dentists in action, we learned all about how sugary foods and drinks can damage our teeth.

We used some tablets to help us see where plaque was building up and then brushed it away before it had chance to cause decay!

It was interesting to find out about the different types of teeth in our mouth and why they are a certain shape. Some of us made amazing tooth models using this new knowledge.

We also had a go at role playing a day in the dental surgery. The receptionists and dental nurses were very kind and helpful, but those dentists’ drills were not for the faint-hearted!
