Fire! Fire!

Year 2 journeyed to the Museum of London to find out more about one of its most infamous disasters – the Great Fire of 1666.
We caught a glimpse of part of the old London Wall on our way, and saw lots of amazing new buildings. It was great to see so much of the present day city before we stepped back into the narrow streets of 1666.
We got to see parts of buildings and furniture as they were back then, including an oven like the one in the bakery where the fire started. It was incredible to see how the flames spread across the city.
After trying out some of the firefighting equipment used to calm the fire, we began thinking about how we would’ve rebuilt London after the fire.
