Brecknock is an exciting and nurturing school, placed at the heart of a thriving community. We offer a caring, creative and stimulating environment for all our children, staff and parents to learn together, grow and succeed.
We believe that children’s happiness and emotional well being is vital and is the foundation for children to be able to thrive and contribute to society. We aim to give children positive initial experiences of learning and relationships, which will help to make them responsible, responsive citizens who understand the value of community.
The culture of our school ensures that every child is known well and valued. We are a happy, ambitious and inclusive school reflecting the rich diversity of families in our area. It is a safe and stimulating environment for learning, playing and growing.

The staff at Brecknock set high academic aspirations for our children and work hard to provide them with an extensive range of opportunities, carefully designed to spark their interests and enthusiasm and enable them to realise their full potential. These opportunities are rooted in research and enable us to support and train other teachers within Camden and beyond.
As a Rights Respecting School, the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child is at the heart of our school curriculum, policy and practice. We offer the children opportunities to act as champions of children’s rights and to develop their place in the world as global citizens.
We harness a strong belief that working closely with our parents will support the children in their learning and their well-being. By the time they leave the school, we want our children to have a strong sense of identity and to be confident to become responsible citizens of the future.
Brecknock is rooted in the heart of our community. We value strong relationships and partnerships, both with our families and also local and national organisations that enrich our curriculum. We are federated with Torriano Primary School through Executive Headship and have established a strong commitment to excellence and equity in our local area. We share a growing professional learning community across the partnership, developing pedagogy, curriculum and innovation for everyone, through training, research and evidence informed practice. We have developed a team of expert and specialist teachers and leaders, who support and grow other professionals at a local and national level.
We are very proud of Brecknock and very much hope that as you look through our website you will understand why.
